Postharvest and tissue culture in the spotlights during study visit Sri Lanka

The Embassy of the Netherlands in Colombo and the Netherlands Enterprise Agency (RVO) have collaborated to conduct a study visit to the Netherlands late November 2019 with 15 Sri Lankan horticulture companies interested in postharvest and plant tissue culture. The Nederlandse Export Combinatie (NEC) organized the mission and HollandDoor supported NEC in the preparation as well as during the mission itself.

The mission was part of a multi-year program by the World Bank: the Agricultural Sector Modernization Project (ASMP). Ten of the leading ASMP officers, responsible for improvements in the value chain, also took part in the mission. The full week program included field visits in the ornamental sector and fruit and vegetables sector, a B2B matchmaking event and in-depth workshops and masterclasses. HollandDoor provided two of these workshops.

The trip motivated the participants to further explore the various options to invest and to collaborate with Dutch knowledge and technology providers.
