Nuffic granted HollandDoor an OKP plus (Orange Knowledge Programme) for a train the trainers project in the Anbar Region of Iraq. The project will be carried out with project partners ZOA Iraq and CNSF.
The Orange Knowledge Programme is a Dutch global development programme managed by Nuffic, a Dutch organisation for internationalisation in education, and funded by the Dutch Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
NGOs like ZOA and CNSF, seek to train small-scale farmers and thus work towards the rebuilding of the agriculture sector in Anbar region. The aim of the training is to train participants who are already active in the agriculture of Iraq. The 40 training participants will be selected extension officers of the Agriculture and Water resource management directorates in Anbar. After the training they are expected to be able to train farmers within their (governmental) associations.
Due to Covid 19 the project will start with online training sessions. However the training will encourage the participants to develop an action plan which goals of reached farmers in between the trainings in this project. In this way, the project will reach 1000 farmers during the running time of the project.
